just chillin' Having yet again outrun a swarm of fans, Demi Lovato ducked into the local movie theatre, quickly pulling the door shut as she hid her thin body behind a wall, chest heaving from the distance she had been forced to cover. It was amazing how even she was still chased by the masses, despite a large amount of sudden unpopularity. Though the reason for that still baffled the young actress and singer, Demi could not deny that her fan base was still rather large, even if it came nowhere near that of her friends Joe, Nick and Kevin. Speaking of, she was beginning to really miss them.
With a soft sigh, Demi allowed herself a moment so that her breathing could return to normal, feeling her heart pound less and less against her chest with each passing second. Finally, she walked over to the ticket counter, glancing up at the screens that hung above her head to display the movies and the times they would be playing at.
"Could I have one ticket to the 2 o'clock showing of Night at the Museum?" she asked with a smile.
The cashier gave a nod and smile in return as she rung through the order, quickly presenting the girl with her ticket. After thanking the girl, Demi headed to the snack bar, grabbing some popcorn and a small soda to keep her stomach occupied while she watched the movie. It appeared to be a slow day for the theatre, as there was no one in there when she walked up the ramp and retreated to the very back row. With nothing to do but sit and watch the strange things that popped up on the screen, Demi sat back, nibbling on a buttery piece of her popcorn.
Suddenly, the speakers began to play a familiar tune, one that she knew to be her own. La La Land. That song had quickly become one of the more popular ones on her CD, which was still selling well despite having been out for nearly a year. With a soft shrug of her shoulders, Demi closed her dark brown eyes, allowing her mind to become lost in thought as she listened first to her own song, and then to another that struck a chord.
Tonight..
Just the memory of the time she had been able to spend with the boys made her smile, even if it had been such a longtime ago. She missed them terribly, though they still kept in touch. That was the wonderful thing about technology. It didn't matter where you were, as long as you had your cellphone handy.

She Was All I Ever WantedShe Was All I Ever Needed Joe Jonas groaned as his alarm clock screamed for him to get up. He couldn't help but smile, though, when he heard the song blaring through his room. 'I wanna get back, to the old days... Demi was everywhere. When she wasn't on the radio or on tv, he saw her in a magazine. But no matter where Joe was, she was always on his mind. While filming Camp Rock, he had mixed feelings about her. They were instantly best friends, but Joe wondered if they could be more. It wasn't until she went with them on the Burnin' Up Tour that he fell head over heels for Demi Lovato. At night after the concert, they would hang out in each others tour bus or call each other and talk late into the night. He couldn't help it, but he fell in love with her.
A minute later the song ended, along with Joe's thoughts on Demi. His thoughts were reverted to Taylor Swift, seeing that Love Story was the next song to come on. He groaned once more and turned the stupid clock off. He jumped up out of bed, knowing he had to get Taylor out of his head. Most people thought Joe just used Taylor, but he really did like her. Just not as much as he loved Demi. He didn't even know why he dated her though. He was attracted to her and all, but she was nothing compared to Demi. Just thinking about her brought a smile to his lips.
Another thing that made him smile? No work today. After filming for weeks straight, Joe just wanted a break. He and his brothers had been working nonstop on their show and music. Luckily, though, their mother demanded they have a day off to relax. Trying to decide what to do today, he walked over to his closet. After throwing on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, he grabbed his keys and walked downstairs. "I'll be back later." He called to whoever was listening, which was probably no one.
After hopping in his car and blasting the stereo, Joe decided to go to the movies. He and his brothers had been invited to the Night at the Museum 2 permiere, but they had a conert that night and couldn't go. He figured this was the best alternative to the problem. After arriving at the theater and dodging a million teenage girls, he made his way into the dark theater. He was just about to sit down when he saw a familiar head of brown hair. Grinning, he walked over.
"This seat taken?" Joe asked, grinning at Demi. He hadn't seen her in weeks and although the texted often, it just wasn't the same. He was about to ask Demi how she was when he heard a familiar song. No, we're not gonna work this out tonight. No, we're not gonna make this right... He smiled and then turned back to Demi. "So, what have you been up to lately?" He asked, genuinely happy to see Demi.

just chillin' Setting her popcorn in the vacant seat beside her, Demi tapped her foot along to the beat of the song, humming along with it. It was nice, being alone in the movie theatre, and because she was there, she knew that very few others, if anyone at all, would be permitted into that showing, more for her safety than anything else.
But she was caught totally by surprise to see another body enter the room, heading up the stairs in her direction. It took her a moment to realize who it was before her face broke into a radiant smile and she flew from her seat, running to him as she engulfed him in a tight embrace. Fate was definetely on her side that day if Joe had been the one to come to the movie, the one day that she had decided to come as well.
"JOE!" she screamed. "I'm so happy to see you. I've missed you so much since the end of the Burnin' Up tour. How have you been?"
There were so many questions that she wanted to ask of him, but fear of looking like a completely idiot and an obsessive fangirl, stopped her. Yes, she was a fan, especially because she was fortunate enough to be friends with the boys, but she didn't want to maul them like everyone else did. That was something she was slightly above, thanks to her star status. Then again, there were somethings that even stars were prone to do that made them look, well, human.
Pulling back, she felt her hands rest on his shoulders, looking at him from arms length. He didn't look that different at all, except perhaps a little exhausted. She had heard that their new show had taken up a lot of their time, which made it a little more complication than normal for them to unwind and hang around with friends. She understood that well enough.
"Come on, let's sit down then," she laughed, leading him back over to her spot. "You've got to tell me everything. It's been so long since I've seen you. How are Nick and Kevin? And Frankie and your parents?"

She Was All I Ever WantedShe Was All I Ever Needed Joe grinned as he made his way over to Demi. She seemed to see him at about the same time. His smile only widened when she jumped up from her seat and ran over to him. He wrapped his arms around her tightly. He could sense everyone staring at them, but he didn't care. Demi was in his arms and he didn't want to let go of her. "I've been great, just missing you too much." Joe replied with a grin in her ear. He felt her pull back, resting her hands on his shoulders. "But how have you been? I've barely seen you in months!" He said, taking a moment to look her over. She looked great, like usual. She just looked more tired than usual, but he wasn't too suprised. After all, she had a new show and an album coming out soon.
The theater lights went down, which was their hint to sit down. He followed her back to her seat and sat down beside her. "Everyone's good. We've been really busy, but good. Oh, except Frankie. He misses you and Madison." Joe informed her with a grin. Then he added, "Everyday he tries to take my phone and text you. Seriously, Demz, the kid adores you." He knew Frankie would kill him if he found out he told Demi that, but he knew he could get Demi to sweet talk him.

just chillin' Thankful that they were the only two in the entire theatre, Demi glanced up just as the lights began to dim and the opening credits for the movie started to roll. She wanted to keep talking with Joe more than she wanted to watch this movie anymore, but since she had paid for the ticket, it would be good to watch the film anyway. Besides, he was right beside her, and she had no doubts that he wouldn't be whispering silly things in her ear as he normally did.
That was Joe Jonas for you.
Demi smiled. "I've been fantastic. The album has been selling really well, my acting career is still working for me, and the studio is talking about another album. They don't want to say anything yet because of Lines, Vines and Trying Times, but it's being whispered about."
She was excited to see how well the public had responded to the boy's new CD, one that she had liked very much herself. Though some of the songs were a little more oriented toward the ex-girlfriend's in their lives, she would say nothing on that subject, partly because she knew Miley, Selena and Taylor, and because she remembered the trouble and drama that had been caused as a result of those break ups.
That was one thing that she was in no hurry to experience, a break up. She had seen the end of the one between Taylor and Joe, and it had not been pretty. Then again, she had been the one to help Selena through her break up with Nick, even though it hadn't been too hard to do. Selena had handled it well, and she held no hard feelings against Nick for calling it off. The two were still very good friends.
"Aww, really?" she asked, touched that the youngest Jonas Brother wanted to talk to her so badly. "You can tell Frankie that I miss him too. Maybe I'll swing by one day and take him to an amusement park or something. I could be fun."
A bright smile formed on her lips as she saw the credits slowly become the movie, her voice lowering to a whisper as she leaned into Joe. Chills ran up and down her spine as she realized how close to him she really was.

She Was All I Ever WantedShe Was All I Ever Needed Joe grinned at Demi. She was such a talented girl, and she deserved everything Disney was offering her plus more. He wasn't even sure if she knew how much talent she had. She was definitely the most talented girl he knew. She could sing, dance, act, and she had a great sense of humor. "Thats great, Dem! I knew they'd offer you a second album. You first was great!" He said with a grin.
Joe then teasingly added, "But speaking of our album, have you bought it yet?" He hoped she had, and-if she did-liked it. Her opinion meant a lot to him, speaking that she was one of his best friends. Plus she had great musical taste. But what she didn't know was that she gave him the inspiration to write some of their new songs. Not that his brothers knew that or anything.
Joe knew the movie would be starting soon, but he liked talking to Demi. Well, at least he still had a few minutes until it officially began, and luckily, they were the only ones in the theater. "Frankie would love that! But be careful, he'll probably try to make a move on you or something. He thinks your 'the most beautiful girl in the whole world.' His exact words." Joe informed her with a grin. Not that he could blame Frankie. She was beautiful.
The credits began to come onto the screen, and Joe became aware of her leaning towards him. He glanced over at Demi out of the corner of his eye and noticed she seemed cold. "Are you cold? Do you want my jacket?" He asked, motioning to the jacket he was now taking off.

just chillin' Being praised in such a manner by Joe made her face blush so much that she was grateful for the dark theatre they were now in. She suppressed a girlish giggle as she ignored the things that were being played on the screen before her, watching instead the teenaged celebrity that sat beside her.
"Thanks," she said softly. "I'm really hoping that the deal goes through. The last album did so well that I'd love to see if people would buy another one. It wouldn't be for at least another year, but it would be great."
At the mention of the album, Joe had asked if she had bought their new one. The response seemed so simple that it was strange for him to have even asked. Not only had she waited forever for the album, but she had risked being mobbed by people in order to get the new CD first hand instead of waiting for it to come in the mail. If only she could describe the scene at the mall when she had been there with so many people scrambling to grab one before they all vanished.
But, because that would mean telling him that she had braved the crowds, she wouldn't say a word.
Instead, she nodded. "I love it," she smiled brightly. "I thought it was great. Referencing your past relationships was perfect to relate to your fans. But...."
Biting her lower lip, she wondered if she should even bring up the thing that had been nagging her for the past little while, since she had heard the song Much Better for the first time. Obviously, an ex-girlfriend had been mentioned, and it was evident that the stab was thrown back at her for the songs that had been written about Joe, but what bothered Demi was the mention of another girl being better than the last.
"Who was the girl in the song?"
Now that the words were out of her mouth, she almost wished that she had remained silent with her question. It really wasn't any of her buisness to begin with, and it certainly wouldn't help her heart any to hear that Joe was writing about another girl. She feared for his reputation, since he had had more girlfriends in the past than either of Kevin or Nick, but she was also worried about whether or not she could handle the heartbreak without hurting too badly. For whatever reason, her attraction to the middle Jonas Brother had become a little more than she would have liked to admit.
But with Frankie mentioned, she tried to brush off her question, hoping that Joe would take no notice at all.
"That's alright, he's old enough to know that he's too young for me. Besides, my heart's already taken. But I'm flattered."
It wasn't the smartest thing to admit perhaps, but she had already said it before she could stop her mouth from moving. Mentally kicking herself she couldn't help but shake her head when his jacket was offered to her. The poor boy was oblivious, and she didn't totally mind. It wasn't the air conditioning in the theatre that made her shiver, only the thought of being so close to him so casually. And he knew nothing about it.

She Was All I Ever WantedShe Was All I Ever Needed The movie had officially started, but Joe didn't even take notice. Since they were both so busy, it was rare that he got to hang out with Demi, so he wasn't going to give up this oppurtunity. He teasingly rolled his eyes at her first comment. "Of course their going to buy the album. They'd be crazy not too!" He said, looking at her with a grin. He all ready was planning on the buying the album the second it came out.
For her last album, Joe and his brothers help write some of the songs while on tour with her. That tour was great, because they would perform together on stage, then hang out in one of their tour buses to write songs. Literally, they spent every waking second together. Unfortunately, the tour eventually ended and they went on to their next projects. It was also unfortunate that Demi was now able to write great songs by herself. He was said that they wouldn't get to hang out to write songs for this album, but he was also proud of everything she had accomplished.
Hearing Demi say she bought their album, Joe beamed. The fact that she liked the album meant a lot to Joe. His smile faded, though, as she talked about referencing to past realtionships. He knew what was coming next. Who was the girl in the song? What was he supposed to say? 'You'? He paused a moment and racked his brain for something to say. When he knew too much time had passed, he decided to stall. "Ummm...which song?" He asked, knowing perfectly well she meant Much Better.
Joe noticed as Demi changed the subject, and he wondered if she regretted asking her question. Of course it made him wonder why she asked it. He'd been crushing on her for a while, but obviously she didn't know that. He had dated Taylor Swift in the mean time, figuring Demi would never feel the same way about him.
"Knowing Frankie, he would try anyway. He's got himself convinced that you two are perfect for each other." Joe replied with a laugh.
Even though he tried to ignore it, he couldn't help but wonder who she was talking about when she said her heart was taken. He wasn't going to be nosy, but after a moment he couldn't help himself. "Soo...Who is the lucky guy who's 'taken your heart'?" He asked, giving her a small nudge.
Secretly, Joe wished she was talking about him. Unfortunately, he knew she wasn't. She was probably talking about Cody Linley or some other past boyfriend.

just chillin' His compliments made her blush even more, making Demi feel the burn in her face like she had never before blushed so much. And she probably never had. Joe was such a sweetheart, especially toward her, and she enjoyed the words that came from his lips. No matter what happened to her, she could always count on his being there, which made her feel all the more blessed to know him and be counted among his friends. Her own lips parted into a smile as she ducked her head slightly.
"Thanks," she whispered. "That means a lot to me."
More than you know, she added silently in her head. The very thought of him knowing made her want to scream out loud, but that was something she reserved strictly for doing into her pillow at night, after she had just had a web conversation with him or had spent another night emailing back and forth into the early hours of the morning. Neither her own mother nor Denise Jonas really approved, but even they knew that Demi and Joe didn't get to see each other as often as they would have liked. So it was their only option.
Seeing that the movie had started, Demi settled back into her seat, head tilted so that she could still see Joe's face as the screen lit it up. He really was handsome, she thought to herself.
"Yah," she said, lips moving so little that the sound hardly escaped them. "That's the song."
Biting her lower lip, she realized that he had caught on to her previous statement about someone else having caught her heart. And now he was asking into the name of that lucky boy. Her entire body froze as her mind screamed at her to come up with something to say to him, some way of telling him the truth without actually giving the name or hints into whom it may be. Nothing came to mind. And now she was panicking.
"Well, I can't really tell you who he is," Demi smiled lightly. "He has a reputation that cannot be marred by such silly feelings."

She Was All I Ever WantedShe Was All I Ever Needed Joe smiled and shrugged at Demi's comment. "I was just speaking the truth." He said, looking over at her. She really didn't know how great she was. Joe could go on all day about her. Of course, it was his brothers that had hear it all the time. Everytime the texted, IMed or emailed, he just couldn't stop talking about her. His brohters got annoyed, but he didn't care. He just couldn't stop once he started.
A moment later, he could see Demi settle back in her seat as the movie started. But that didn't stop her from answering his question. He bit his lip when she answered that Much Better was the song she was talking about. He didn't want to tell her that the song was about her. Actually, a part of him wanted to tell her, but not in a movie theater. It'd be too much of a shock, plus the whole movie would be awkward. But then again, what if he never got another chance...
Joe knew he had to answer, and soon. He had to make a decision and he had to make it fast. He bit his lip again, and decided to keep it to himself for a little while longer. "Oh, um. you don't know her." He said nervously.
Joe waited for her to answer about the guy she was crushing on. It would probably be one of the guys she worked with on Sonny With A Chance. Hearing her reply, he grinned and shook his head. "C'mon, Dem! You can trust me." He said, nudging her with his elbow. Then he quickly added, "I'll tell you who Much Better is really about."

just chillin' She had to admit, she was slightly curious to know why he was interested in the name of the guy that she was crushing on, especially when she first said that she couldn't tell. Never before had Joe shown such an interest in such a thing, even if they were as close as they were. Normally when she said no, he was the first one to accept her answer and move on, Nick being the one to pester and want to know what he wasn't being told. But to have Joe sitting beside her, asking for the simplest of things, a name, made Demi wonder what else he was thinking about.
Tilting her head to the one side, Demi turned completely to face him, totally ignoring the movie that now played on the large screen. Her desire to know was getting the better of her in more ways then one, and it was beginning to really bother her that there might be something unsaid between them.
"Joe," Demi said softly. "What are you trying to say?"
She didn't like this, she didn't like it one bit. Something was definetely going on with him, because he looked more nervous than was normal for Joseph Adam Jonas, or at least the one that she had come to know and love. Yes, her feelings for him were unsaid, but in that moment she pushed them aside to focus on him, afraid that maybe something was wrong with him. Or maybe there was something in his life that wasn't going well.
Slowly, she reached out, her small hand coming gently on top of his much larger one.
"Joe, you know you can tell me anything, right?" she asked him. "Absolutely anything, no matter what it is."
With the most serious expression she had ever worn, Demi closed her fingers around his hand and gave it a light squeeze. The feeling that shot through her felt like lightning, but again she ignored her own feelings. They weren't important right now.
